THE SILENT EYE will screen at Cafe OTO

The Wire Magazine and Reece Ewing are presenting a special UK premiere screening of THE SILENT EYE at Cafe OTO on Sunday 4th June at 8pm. The film is a highly impressionistic portrait of the unspoken rapport between free jazz icon Cecil Taylor and legendary Butoh dancer Min Tanaka. At work together, the film plays out as a timeless, elegant conversation between two men - at once meditative and highly moving. The film was commissioned by the Whitney Museum of American Art in 2016 and filmed in Taylor’s New York brownstone home.
